Tonight the Washington Capitals are hosting the Winnipeg Jets in the final game before the Christmas break, but unfortunately one Capital, he will be going into the break in quite a bit of pain.
At the start of the third period, the Winnipeg won a faceoff to their defenceman, who line up a slapshot, and it hit John Carlson directly in the face.
You can see he immediately went down and their was blood on the ice before Carlson even hit the ice.
At the moment there has been no update on Carlson.
