The wait is over Seattle Kraken Fans. The 2021 2nd overall pick, Matt Beniers has officially signed his 3 year entry level contract.
But no that's not all, we got even sweeter news y'all, Matthew Beniers will make his NHL debut tonight vs the Calgary Flames. After His NCAA season ended in an overtime loss in the Frozen four semi final to the University of Denver.
The Kraken have put Beniers in place to succeed having Beniers placed in the 1st line spot paired up with Ryan Donato and Jordan Eberle.
Beniers is only 19 years old and in 37 games with the University of Michigan Beniers had 20 goals and 21 assists. He also represented Team USA at the Olympics in Beijing.
We have often seen teams bring up young talent and place them on the 3rd or 4th line, which is not where young players need to be in order to show off their talents. So this is a great move by the Kraken giving their future star a chance to show what he can do with the teams top talent.
