Auston Matthews has missed the past two games with an undisclosed injury and from the sounds of the coach, he will miss his third straight game tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

This is a huge game tonight between these two powerhouse teams as they are most likely about to meet in the first round of the stanley cup playoffs.

Toronto currently has an 8 point lead on the Tampa Bay Lighting, but with the Boston Bruins currently at 99 points, they have the opportunity to jump over the Lightning to take the third spot in the Atlantic division, which would have them facing the Toronto Maple Leafs .... again.

Matthews was on a goal scoring hot streak 58 goals, 102 points in 70 games this season. Let's hope this injury does not affect his play come playoff time.

Keefe has already said that if this is a playoff game, Matthews would be playing, but that does not distract us from the fact that it means Matthews is injured and not at 100%, which the Leafs will need him at.
