Washington Capitals forward TJ Oshie is reaching out to his followers to get help for the family of a very good friend. Oshie has shared a GoFundMe that asks for help of the family of someone close to his heart.

According to Oshie's post, Michael Tveiter is a former high school classmate and teammate.

"Absolutely heartbroken to learn that my good friend and high school teammate unexpectedly died yesterday while taking a nap from a migraine. Any donation to his wife and kids pictured below can help them navigate life without Michael moving forward. Love you Tveiter!!" - TJ Oshie"

Tweeter

Tveiter--or Tweeter, as his friends called him--was clearly a lifelong lover of the sport of hockey.

"Tveiter (Tweeter) as we all call him was also a great mentor to the numerous boys he has coached as a member of the Warroad Boys Highschool Hockey coaching staff. As a teammate in his High School days Tveiter was known as the big teddy bear but also a protector of the team on the ice. A big brother that would stick up for anyone dawning the black and gold. March 8, 2023 marked the 20th Anniversary of when Tveiter and his teammates won the State Championship. - GoFundMe

Oshie's Past

Oshie was born in the state of Washington, and grew up in Everitt, not far from Seattle. It was there that he started what would eventually become a career in hockey, becoming a three-time highschool All-Star, and scored 100 points in 31 games as a senior.
