Since he entered the league in 2005, after missing his entire first year due to an NHL Lockout, we've all been spoiled with getting to watch Alexander Ovechkin score goal after goal after goal.

At the age of 37, he just refuses to slow down and is still scoring goals at a .645 goals per game rate, which is higher than his career percentage of .613.

Last night, going into a game against the Chicago Blackhawks, Ovechkin had 797 career goals, and went on to score a hat-trick to bring himself to 800, making him only the 3rd player of all time to reach to feat, and brings himself to within one goal of the great Gordie Howe for 2nd all time.

Hockey players are very competitive, and on the ice there is no friendships with the other team. But last night the Chicago Blackhawks leaders Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane showed a tremendous amount of respect for Alexander Ovechkin's accomplishment, and after the game they went to shake his hand to congratulate him on this milestone.

Even though he was the enemy last night, it is amazing to see them give him this respect.
