Anonymous NHL team is officially being sold per David Pagnotta
Insider David Pagnotta shared some major news today as he revealed that one NHL team is in the process of being sold and is expected to be announced in June.
Recently, the talk of the NHL has been the Arizona Coyotes getting sold for $1.2 billion and being relocated to Utah right after.
This is just further proof that the NHL is currently in a place where they are growing faster and faster and teams will only get more expensive.
Insider David Pagnotta shared today that one NHL team, he didn't specify which, is currently in the process of selling 15% of the team.
"I'm told a healthy chunk of NHL owners are willing to take on new minority stakeholders, with one club in the process of finalizing a deal to sell 15 percent of that specific franchise. I am not currently at liberty to divulge the team, but that deal is expected to be announced around or in June." - David Pagnotta
The New York Rangers were valued most recently at $2.2 billion so if they are the team being sold, it is around $330 million or probably more. However, most NHL teams are valued from $750 million to $1.5 billion so it is likely closer to being a sale around $150 million.
