The NHL and Department of Player Safety have announced this afternoon that Matt Rempe will be held responsible for his reckless actions on the ice last night.

Rempe Faces A Hearing To Decide His Fate



Today the NHL put out a statement via the Department of Player Safety confirming a hearing scheduled for today regarding Matt Rempe's hit on Jonas Siegenthaler.

The hit led to an injury for Siegenthaler and an ejection for Matt Rempe which was not the first of his very young career.



In the wake of this play, the Department of Player Safety announced a hearing this afternoon for Matt Rempe to learn his fate.

NY Rangers' Matt Rempe will have a hearing today for elbowing New Jersey's Jonas Siegenthaler.


Insider Pierre LeBrun confirmed that the hearing would be via phone. This is an important detail because it confirms that Rempe's suspension will be 5 games or less.
