Today has been a day of trades in the NHL as the Dallas Stars have shipped off former top prospect Ty Dellandrea to the San Jose Sharks.

The Dallas Stars are looking to continue contending with their current core. With that in mind, they have traded off one of their younger players for an asset they can use to acquire a potential veteran.
For the San Jose Sharks they continue to load up on young talent as they reload their roster to support their incoming franchise player Macklin Celebrini. Ty Dellandrea was expected to be a two-way top-six center in the NHL but has not found offensive success to this point and been relegated to a defensive specialist.

At just 24 years old there is plenty of time for Ty Dellandrea to improve his career. With a potentially more offensive role next season in San Jose this could be just the move the young center needs to turn around his career.
