Despite fantastic efforts throughout the night from Florida, Tuesday night's Game 5 belonged to the Edmonton Oilers, with captain Connor McDavid starring as the Oilers accomplished their goal of getting this series back to Edmonton.
The game was in the balance down the stretch, and even after a heroic save from Matthew Tkachuk in the dying moments, it was the Oilers who stood tall, capturing the 5-3 win to get this series back to 3-2, furthering their belief in themselves. There was elation on the Oilers bench, but disappointment throughout the building, especially with Florida Panthers GM Bill Zito, who didn't hide his frustration after the loss.
While some have called out the moment for being problematic, it was a simply moment of frustration for the GM, who truly believed his team was about to capture their first Stanley Cup in franchise history on Tuesday. The series is still going however, so now Zito and the team need to leave their frustration and disappointment behind, because they still need just one win to clinch the Cup, while the Oilers need to be perfect for another two games.
