Barclay Goodrow to be claimed off waivers by his former team
Today the New York Rangers placed Barclay Goodrow on waivers and there are rumblings that he will be claimed by his former team, the San Jose Sharks.
The New York Rangers shocked many today when they placed veteran forward Barclay Goodrow on waivers with three years left on his current contract.
The Rangers have placed Barclay Goodrow on waivers
In a recent article for The New York Post, Rangers reporter Mollie Walker shared that there may be an under-the-table agreement between the Rangers and San Jose Sharks that will see the Sharks claim Goodrow.
"There is belief there is a pre-arranged deal for the Sharks to claim Goodrow, who spent the first six seasons of his NHL career in San Jose."
Goodrow played in 268 career games with the Sharks before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning. As the Sharks finished last in the NHL last year, they have first dibs on Goodrow and any player placed on waivers.
If Goodrow does head back to San Jose, he will be a veteran leader amongst a youthful core of top young players. We will now wait for 2 pm tomorrow to see if the Sharks claim him off waivers or not.
