Pittsburgh Penguins trade forward Reilly Smith to the New York Rangers
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has officially confirmed that the New York Rangers are acquiring forward Reilly Smith from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The New York Rangers are making a move trading for Reilly Smith from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Sounds like Pittsburgh is trading Reilly Smith to the Rangers
Friedman later confirmed that draft picks would be the return.
Draft picks are the return
2nd rounder + 5th as return for Reilly Smith.
Smith was traded to Pittsburgh last offseason from Vegas and was decent in his time with the Penguins. In his trade to Pittsburgh, they only gave up a third round pick for his services. Smith scored 13 goals and 40 points for the Penguins last year.
He did have a 56-point campaign in the year the Golden Knights won the cup and will look to return to that form with the Rangers. Smith will now head to the Big Apple and prove that he is not ready to quit just yet.
