We are officially past the quarter mark of the season as the Maple Leafs have played 23 games.
Robertson has appeared in 20 of those games, putting up just two goals.
However, one of those goals came last night as the Leafs took down the Tampa Bay Lighting 5-3.
It was nice to see Robertson so happy after scoring the goal. His scoring drought was clearly weighing on him.
Perhaps this will be a catalyst for the young forward as it could give him more confidence.
After all, we saw something very similar happen with Connor Bedard recently.
After going more than 10 games without a goal, Bedard now has two goals and four points in his last three games, with both his tallies coming on the powerplay.
If Robertson does heat up, this could be a good chance for Brad Treliving to move on from him.
Robertson did request a trade over the summer and it seems as though he could use a change of scenery, given his scoring troubles in Toronto.
One trade we could look to as a comparable is when the Predators traded Philip Tomasino to the Penguins in exchange for a 4th round pick.
Tomasino was in a very similar situation as Robertson, having just one assist through 11 games in Nashville.
However, since being traded, he already has two goals in three games for the Penguins.
Both of them turned out to be game-winners to boot!
We could very well see Robertson have a similar resurgence if he gets moved.
At this point, it would make sense for both the player and the team, so it only feels like a matter of time before it happens.
