Eight contenders officially emerge for Anaheim Ducks star Trevor Zegras
Trevor Zegras is one of the most popular names on the trade market as it stands and he has eight reported contenders for him as potential trade destinations.
Since being drafted 9th overall in 2019, Trevor Zegras has become one of the biggest names in hockey for his incredibly high skill level and ability to dazzle on any given night. However, the Anaheim Ducks are heading in a new direction and Zegras likely is not a part of those plans.
Today it was reported by David Pagnotta that there are eight contenders for Zegras' services.
At least eight teams have expressed serious interest in Zegras, including the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, Nashville Predators, Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres, and I believe other clubs have also been in the mix.
Zegras is coming off one of the worst years of his career with the Ducks scoring a measly 15 points in 31 games in a year that was plagued by injuries. This is a stark step down from his 2022-23 campaign where he scored 23 goals and 65 points in 81 games.
We will now wait to see which team lands Zegras and then see if they are capable of unlocking his full potential.
