For some time now, it appears the Anaheim Ducks have been prepared to trade Trevor Zegras, and now we officially know his preferred trade destination.
Despite a promising start to his career in Anaheim, Trevor Zegras has fallen out of favour with GM Pat Verbeek, and with so many talented names coming through the organization, he has become expendable. After acquiring Cutter Gauthier, many believed Zegras' time in Anaheim was coming to an end, and now, it appears to be a formality.
Many teams have been linked to Zegras, but now, thanks to Peter Baugh of The Athletic, we know that his preferred destination for quite some time has been the New York Rangers.
It's unclear what level of interest the Rangers have in Zegras, but in the same report, Baugh notes that the Philadelphia Flyers may be the team pushing hardest for him. With the draft just days away, we may be drawing nearer to a Trevor Zegras trade, but with a high asking price, things are still up in the air, with most still expecting a blockbuster deal sometime this summer.
