Fan recovers historic Shane Doan memorabilia and returns it to him
With the Arizona Coyotes franchise being in shambles, this fan came to the rescue to ensure that Shane Doan received his historic banner that was left in the trash during the move.
The Arizona Coyotes have been a hot mess since they failed to build a new arena for their club a few years ago. Now, however, with their move to Utah confirmed, it has come to light just how badly the organization has been run. It was recently revealed that some of the historic banners in the arena were not making the trip to Utah, and ended up in the trash.
Now, a special fan has made an effort to retrieve some of the banners and was even able to return Shane Doan's to him, in person.
Shane Doan has been reunited with his retirement banner.
A significant piece of Coyotes history that was left behind at Gila River Arena.
It was clear in the Coyotes' final game last night that fans were feeling upset about the team's move to Utah. The final celebrations after the horn were a special moment in the Team's history, a representation of what hockey meant to Arizona.
A final goodbye to the Arizona Coyotes 🫡
It is sad that this is the way that it ended for the Arizona Coyotes franchise. While the Coyotes are in the first slot for a new expansion team, hopefully, the ownership recognizes that they need to step up when it matters.
