Evgeny Kuznetsov has had tremendous success in the NHL with Washington and Carolina, but now the veteran is heading overseas for the next four-years.
In Washington, the success of Alexander Ovechkin is celebrated by all, but his success wouldn't have been possible without Evgeny Kuznetsov, who played his role alongside the captain perfectly. However, his play took a major nosedive in recent years, leading him to depart the team this past season, linking up with the Hurricanes where he bounced back with 7 points in 20 games.
Now, the veteran is on the move again, as a report has officially revealed that he will return to the KHL, linking up with SKA St. Petersburg.
Per http://championat.com Evgeni Kuznetsov is set to sign a 4-year contract with SKA as soon as he terminates his agreement with the Hurricanes #CauseChaos #Canes
This is a blockbuster move for a player that was once considered one of the elite centers in the NHL, and at 32-years of age, this may be the last contract we see him sign. Despite tallying just 24 points across 63 games a season ago, Kuznetsov believes he still has plenty left in the tank, and will now link with one of the elite teams in the KHL.
We've seen many a player leave the NHL to go overseas in recent times and return to the league after great success, and while it's not known what Kuznetsov's plan is, this may not be the last we've seen of him in the NHL.
