Beginning in September, fans will be able to watch Dallas Stars games for free on a streaming service, which will cost Gary Bettman millions in revenue.

The Stars will begin to stream all of their games on VICTORY+, a new streaming service that will be free of charge to all fans living in the North Texas area. This is a major blow to Gary Bettman's revenue that he was expecting to make from pay-per-view services.

The Dallas Stars have launched a free in-market streaming service for fans called Victory+. It's a 7-year deal with A Parent Media Co. Again, if you live in the Stars TV market it is now free to watch the team.

Beginning in September, fans in the Stars' regional territory (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas) will be able to download the app and watch for free across all streaming platforms. This is a large geographical area that Bettman will no longer be able to make any streaming or television revenue from, and he is furious.

The future has arrived! Starting this fall, #TexasHockey fans can stream Stars games for FREE on @victoryplustv! 📺

The Dallas Stars may have just started a snowball effect of teams opting into this free streaming service in a way to win fans over and boost overall interest in the game. Should this catch on with other teams, Bettman and the league are going to lose millions, if not billions, in revenue!
