New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe took the NHL by storm during the 2023-24 NHL season. After being called up by General Manager Chris Drury, Matt Rempe immediately made his impact fighting in his first several games including a fight on his first shift in the Winter Classic.
After this first notable fight, Matt Rempe began to carve out a spot in the roster for himself. Along the way, he continued fighting some of the most notable enforcers in hockey. The New York Rangers would eventually make the Stanley Cup Playoffs where Matt Rempe would continue his physical fighting ways. Eventually, the team would be eliminated and the offseason began.
Since the end of the season, Matt Rempe had not really been seen or heard from. Today that all changed when a video captured him teaching members of a Boxing Club in Alberta how to fight on ice.
These efforts by Matt Rempe seem to be a way to give back to his community while also allowing him to train for his upcoming NHL season. As you can see from the video Matt Rempe is focusing more on technique and the finer details of hockey fights and not just beating up local fans.
With the New York Rangers looking to push themselves even further into the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2024-25 it will be fun to see how much of a role Matt Rempe plays on the team throughout the year.
