Nikolaj Ehlers linked to a blockbuster deal with the Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes are close to being one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference, and now they've been linked to star veteran Nikolaj Ehlers.
The Winnipeg Jets had an incredible 2023/24 regular season, but after all that success, they fell in just five games to the Colorado Avalanche, and their moves since then have been questionable. On top of that, their top prospect seemingly wants out of the organization, and now it appears they're on the verge of trading one of their top veterans in Nikolaj Ehlers.
According to a recent report, it's now the Carolina Hurricanes that lead the way as potential landing spots, and unlike other known suitors, they appear to be actively pursuing him at this time.
According to Stefen Rosner of The Hockey News, the Carolina Hurricanes are heavily interested in Nikolaj Ehlers and are actively pursuing him.
In 82 games this past year, Ehlers ended the year with 25 goals and 61 points, and while he may never be the stars that Winnipeg had hoped for, he's a consistent performer at a high level. Only time will tell if landing Ehlers would be the move that pushes Carolina over the top, but their roster is one of the most talented in the NHL, and this move would certainly go a long way to improving them.
