Crosby doesn't seem to be too concerned about money at this stage in his career, but rather, the direction that the team is planning to take. Crosby's years are numbered in the NHL, and he wants to win a Stanley Cup sooner, rather than later.
Crosby has stated that he has been talking with the Penguins, but didn't provide much optimism on the situation when he was quoted saying "I'll leave it at that". The Penguins' current lineup doesn't lead many to believe that they will make the playoffs next season, and at this stage of Crosby's career, that simply isn't good enough for him to have the desire to remain in Pittsburgh.
Will Sidney Crosby shy away from wanting to remain with a team whose GM has yet to get by the 2nd round of the playoffs? Will Dubas be forced into a trade should Crosby become disgruntled? We are in for a very interesting summer ahead.
