Last off-season, the Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman went to arbitration, and while they come out of it with a one-year deal, neither side was likely a fan of the process. Swayman came into it with a $4.8 million number in mind while the Bruins were at $2 million, and after coming to a price at $3.5 million, it's likely something neither party would want to do again.
Now, they both had a decision to make this off-season, and it appears they're moving in a different direction, as the Boston Bruins have officially made a decision on the situation.
With this decision, both parties have officially elected against arbitration, and given that the team moved Linus Ullmark this off-season, it's clear moving forward that they both want to make a deal happen. At 25-years of age, the future is incredibly bright for Swayman, and if they play their cards right, there is a deal that benefits the Bruins and Swayman that could make him among the highest paid goaltenders in the NHL.
