Edmonton Oilers sign a former 40-goal scorer to play with Connor McDavid
The Edmonton Oilers have officially landed former 40-goal scorer Jeff Skinner on a one-year contract which will pay him a relatively low amount.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli just announced the Edmonton Oilers are signing Jeff Skinner to a one year deal.
Sources say #Oilers are landing forward Jeff Skinner.
1 year x $3 million for Skinner in Edmonton.
Skinner was bought out by the Buffalo Sabres earlier this offseason as he had three years left on a $9 million contract.
The #LetsGoBuffalo buying out Jeff Skinner's remaining 3 years $9M Cap Hit provides cap hit of:
Yr 1 $1.44M
Yr 2 $4.44M
Yr 3 $6.44M
Years 4 to 6: $2.44M each year
Skinner is coming off a 46-point year but has been a proven streaky goalscorer for the majority of his career. He has six 30 goal campaigns and a 40-goal campaign. Alongside a talent like Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl, Skinner could set career highs in every offensive statistic.
