Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice was not happy with his team's effort last night as they lost to the New York Islanders. He was clearly ticked off in his post-game press conference as he refused to answer certain questions.

The Panthers lost on home ice to the New York Islanders by a final score of 3-2 last night. After the game, head coach Paul Maurice was not in a good mood. He was particularly upset with his team's effort, putting aside the fact that the team clinched a playoff spot despite losing the game.

Paul Maurice refused to answer any questions regarding the Panthers clinching a playoff spot.

He was not pleased with tonight's effort.

«Today is free quote fucking day. Take whatever you think I might say and use it. I won't bitch about it.»

What a quote from Paul Maurice 😂

Things started off on the right foot for the Panthers as trade deadline acquisition Vladimir Tarasenko opened the scoring to make it 1-0.

The teams would then exchange a series of goals with Alexander Barkov scoring for the Panthers and Matthew Barzal and Ryan Pulock adding tallies for the Isles. Then, Jean-Gabriel Pageau would score a controversial goal that the Panthers challenged for goaltender interference. It appeared as though Casey Cizikas had interfered with Anthony Stolarz immediately before the goal but for whatever reason the officials upheld the call on the ice, calling it a good goal.

I think Paul Maurice is laughing because the ref said "good goal" and at this point everyone is in on the joke

The tally would prove to be the game-winner as the 3rd period went scoreless. The Panthers are hoping to replicate last season's run to the Stanley Cup finals again this season after the unlikely run last year. Given how the team as played as a whole this season, that seems like a reasonable goal, but they will have to play better than they did last night, especially considering the fact that the Islanders are not a very good team.
