The Florida Panthers' flight to Edmonton gets delayed ahead of game 3
The Florida Panthers' flight to Edmonton ahead of the third game of the Stanley Cup Finals got delayed because of a massive storm.
In Florida, a big rainstorm forced airports to cancel almost every flight, complicating the Panthers' plans.
Set to leave Florida at 1 pm, they had to remain on the ground and wait for the storm to pass.
"Panthers' flight out of Florida has been delayed due to the massive rainstorm. They still plan to arrive tonight, just not sure how long the delay will be. #NHL"
"Panthers fans trying to get to Edmonton are having a tough time this morning.
There are almost no planes being allowed to fly north or west from South Florida due to storms and FAA routing."
This could seriously alter the Panthers' performance going into game three. In every professional sport, game-day routines are very important, and any changes could have an effect on the athletes.
A new report confirmed that the Panthers won't get to Edmonton until at least 8 pm, and that it could even be later:
"The Panthers cannot get to Edmonton until at least 8 pm local time tonight -- and probably much later. Ground stop in Fort Lauderdale until at least 4 pm."
The Oilers already had the home advantage, but these complications take it to another level.
