Sheldon Keefe was recently ejected from a game by the officials, and now the New Jersey Devils coach is feeling the effects after being handed a massive fine.

The New Jersey Devils have been in a free fall as of late, and on Sunday in their matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights, Head Coach Sheldon Keefe was ejected after an outburst levied towards the officials.
After the game, the former Maple Leafs boss explained why he was so frustrated and why he blew up at the officiating, ultimately leading to an ejection.
«It was a similar play that [Jack] got called on earlier in the period. Not only is he injured on the play, but there's no call. I get kicked off the bench for telling the referee I felt it was 10 times worse than the one previously called on Jack.»

Now, the NHL has taken further action with Keefe, as they announced via social media on Wednesday that he has been fined $25,000 for 'unprofessional conduct directed at the officials that resulted in an unsportsmanlike conduct bench minor as well as a game misconduct'.
Unsurprisingly, many of the comments on the NHL's official post disagree with both the ejection and the fine, as the fans continue to call out the poor officiating that has plagued the NHL for much of the 2024/25 season.
Ultimately, the fine seems very harsh for a coach simply standing up for what he believes was a bad call from the officials that led to the injury of his very top star, but we've seen time and time again that the league simply won't do anything about the officiating, so no one is too surprised about this.
