Philadelphia Flyers officially bring Ivan Fedotov in from Russia
It has been a long time coming for Ivan Fedotov to come to North America to play for the Flyers but after negotiations, he is coming to the NHL.
Just now, the Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed goaltender Ivan Fedotov.
Fedotov previously tried to sign with the Flyers but was arrested and forced into military service.
Who is Ivan Fedotov, the hockey player?
While Fedotov made headlines for the off-ice scandal, he is equally deserving of making headlines for his on-ice play.
Fedotov, standing at 6'8, is a monster in net able to take up more space than almost any other goaltender in the NHL.
Since 2020, Fedotov has consistently been one of the better goaltenders in the KHL and despite missing the entire 2022-23 season, Fedotov was able to jump right back into things for CSKA this year posting a .914 sv% and a 2.37 GAA in a staggering 44 games.
The Flyers are now in need of an answer in net and if Fedotov is able to translate his play from the KHL circuit, Fedotov could very well be what the Flyers need.
