Sidney Crosby and Mike Sullivan are on rival sides during the 4 Nations tournament, and the Penguins coach was brutally honest about his feelings on this.

Mike Sullivan, Crosby's Penguins' and Team USA's current head coach, had this to say on what has been for him being up against his former superstar in the 4 Nations tournament.

"I'm going to do everything as the coach of the US team to try to put our guys in positions to be successful, and we're going to do everything we can to try to help our group win. That's just the world that we live in.

It doesn't diminish for one second how I feel about Sid as a person or as a player," Sullivan said.

While determined on America's triumph, Sullivan had nothing but admiration for Crosby, calling Crosby a model player, a humble, diligent, and very intense competitor.

Sullivan credited Crosby with being a fierce competitor and said their competition doesn't take away from his admiration.

Team USA defeated Canada 3-1, snapping Crosby's 26-game tournament win streak. The USA had not defeated Canada in best-against-best competition in 15 years.

Crosby's best overseas performance was at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, in a game against the USA.

Despite the rivalry, Sullivan still admires Crosby

Sullivan recognized the transition from their association, to becoming foes. Crosby being from Canada and Sullivan coaching the American team, their admiration for one another still remains, with competition being the primary.

"When we're on different teams, as we are in this particular event, I know he's going to do everything in his power to win, as, and I'm going to do the same on my side," Sullivan added.

The victory against Canada also qualified Team USA for the championship of the 4 Nations Face-Off. Canada also qualified last night when they got a win against Finland.

The American-Canadian feud still exists, with the Canadians ahead with a 3-0 record against the Americans for elimination matches in the Olympics.
