Team USA qualified for the Four Nations Face-Off championship game with dominating regulation wins over Finland and Canada.
The American locker room is riding high on confidence as they prepare for their last preliminary game against Sweden.
Speaking to the media after Monday's practice, forward Brady Tkachuk made one thing clear: Team USA is sending a strong message, especially to their biggest rival, Canada.
Responding to the fiery start to Saturday's game, in which three fights were fought within nine seconds, Tkachuk suggested it was planned.
The pregame brawl, orchestrated by Tkachuk, his brother Matthew, and another Team USA forward and current New York Ranger player J.T. Miller, was meant to establish the tone. Brady's attitude left no doubt they were announcing something.
In a snippet from his fight with Canada's Sam Bennett, Tkachuk even goads the Canadian fans as things heated up. With this amount of the rivalry at all-time highs, a rematch on Thursday's finale would be worth watching for.
If Canada wins in regulation today against Finland, it automatically qualifies for a rematch with the Americans int he Finals on Thursday.
Should Canada win in overtime or a shootout, then they would need to hope that Sweden does not beat the U.S. in regulation tonight. A loss of any kind would also completely eliminate the Canadians.
