Despite playing a career-high game total this past season, Nick Robertson remains unhappy with his role in Toronto, leading him to make a trade request earlier this off-season. While many former players have stated publicly that he should rescind that and try to find a role with the team, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, he has no intention of doing so.
While there's been plenty of trade speculation, nothing has materialized yet for Robertson, and with the season approaching, this will be a very interesting situation to watch, as he may ultimately need to return to the team if no trade comes to fruition.
At 22 years of age, Robertson still has immense potential, especially after tallying 14 goals in 56 games a year ago, but this situation could affect his future interest around the league. Ultimately though, he is full of talent, and if he can stay healthy, we may be looking at a solid 60-75 point scorer for a long time in the NHL, with his intentions to move on, we could see some major movement with the season quickly approaching.
