Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko did not finish last night's game against the Leafs, and he has fans and teammates worried for his future.

Vancouver Canucks star goaltender Thatcher Demko could be facing another setback after exiting Saturday night's game unexpectedly just a few minutes into the matchup.

During the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Demko unexpectedly skated over to head coach Rick Tocchet during a TV timeout and, after a short discussion, appeared to make the decision to pull himself from the game.

Through it all, Demko had faced a mere six shots in the period, stopping them all to keep his sheet clean.

As such, former NHL goaltender Kelly Hrudey said on the broadcast of the game that Demko may have been feeling off as early as warmups and perhaps could have been in a position to tell the team something may have been off.

"Demko most likely after warm up said to Lankinen 'Hey listen I'm feeling a little off, something is bugging me right now' so Lankinen I suspect has been preparing ever since the start of the game," said Hrudey.

While Kevin Lankinen has been a reliable presence for the Canucks this season, playing in 33 games, with a 2.57 goals-against average and.904 save percentage, losing their top goaltender to a possible injury is far from ideal.

The silver lining in all of this is that the Canucks don't play again for two weeks, so whatever it is that is ailing Demko, hopefully, he is able to recover from it during the time off.
