The Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets are both reportedly interested in making a trade for one Flyers center.

The Philadelphia Flyers have taken an expected step back this season as the organization retools on the fly.

They currently sit in last place in the Metro Division with 53 points through 56 games and will very likely end up being sellers at the trade deadline.

One player that has consistently been in rumors this season is veteran center Scott Laughton, and according to Daily Faceoff contributor Anthony Di Marco, both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Winnipeg Jets are interested in him.

The Leafs have been in the market for another center for some time now and as team reporter Nick Alberga notes, Laughton would be a great fit for the team.

Notably, Toronto Maple Leafs top prospect Fraser Minten is not suiting up for the Marlies tonight.

The Flyers would likely want one of Minten or Easton Cowan in a deal for Laughton but the Leafs are probably unwilling to move Cowan, who they are very high on, so perhaps Minten is being held out of the lineup for trade-related reasons.

For the Jets, their interest in Laughton is rather expected for a couple of reasons.

Like the Leafs, the Jets have consistently been in the market for another center this season.

However, Winnipeg is looking more for a 2nd line center to replace Vladislav Namestnikov than a 3rd liner as that position is neatly filled by Adam Lowry.

As such, Laughton might not be as good of a fit in Winnipeg as he would be in Toronto.

That being said, the Jets are a team that relies on trades to remain competitive as they rarely make big additions in free agency.

As such, the organization may feel a bit limited in their options and Laughton very well may be an addition that they see as better than nothing.
