Leafs Reporter Reveals Marner's Mysterious Injury

Toronto Maple Leafs reporter David Alter went poking around to try and find out what injury Mitch Marner has been dealing with. He eventually found out that Marner had been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain.

Report: #Leafs Mitch Marner was revealed to have suffered high-ankle sprain last week. But a mild one..

UPDATE: Mitch Marner officially listed as day-to-day with a high ankle sprain

While it is good that Marner's ankle sprain is mild it still comes with an extensive recovery. This kind of injury takes anywhere from 2 to 6 months to fully heal. Now of course with a full medical staff and the tools at Marner's disposal this could be sped up.

Either way, the Maple Leafs will need to plan for Marner to be out for an extended period. Luckily for the Maple Leafs, their spot in the playoffs is pretty secure so as long as Marner can be back by the playoffs it won't be a big deal.
