Earlier this season the Chicago Blackhawks terminated Corey Perry's contract after an incident away from hockey. Today a new update has been released about the compensation Perry will receive for being terminated.

The NHL and NHLPA had been negotiating how to handle Corey Perry's termination. The NHLPA never filed an official grievance but were looking to get Perry compensation for the contract money he lost. According to Joe Smith, a settlement has been reached.
Hearing the NHLPA has reached an agreement with the NHL and Blackhawks to come to a settlement re: Corey Perry's contract termination issue. There was a deadline for Perry to file a grievance that had been extended. So no official grievance was filed
There are no details on the settlement reached between the NHL and Corey Perry. Although it does sound as though he will be properly compensated for his time in Chicago. If there are more updates on this situation we will pass them along to you.
