The Detroit Red Wings are in a downward spiral now after losing six-straight games, but with the playoffs in sight in 2023-24, their optimism remains for the rest of the season.
One thing that may help the Red Wings playoff push is the return of Ville Husso, and while it's not coming up any time soon, it has been revealed that he's expected back in net by the end of the season.
#RedWings Lalonde: Lyon starts tomorrow. Larkin out through weekend and then hopefully on ice for practice next week and day to day. Husso week to week still, but expected back before season. Lines in practice today are what he'll start with tomorrow.
Ville Husso was ruled out for a lower-body injury for several weeks, and while he returned a month ago to face the fearsome Edmonton Oilers, he left just as quickly as he returned.
His return is coming along smoothly, with him skating again and facing shots, and while it may be a few more weeks before he sees action again, the team need his solid experience in net if they are to make a deep run in the 2023-24 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Detroit face a tight playoff race against the likes of New York, Tampa Bay and Buffalo over the next six weeks, so the healthier the better for a team looking to break an eight-year playoff drought.
