Filip Chytil has struggled with injuries over the past year, and he has suffered yet another injury after a dirty kneeing play.

Last year, Filip Chytil missed 72 regular season games with concussions and was sorrily missed by the Rangers. The young Czech forward has developed fantastic chemistry with fellow Rangers youngsters Kaapo Kakko and Alexis Lafreniere, forming 'the kid line' in New York. However, it appears that we will have to wait longer to see 'the kid line' again, as Chytil just went down after a dirty hit from New York Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield.

Chytil was unable to put weight on his left leg after the hit, which is not a good sign. There are a multitude of injuries that could be like a broken leg, ACL tear, or broken knee. The Rangers will be holding their breath, hoping it is not the worst. If it is an ACL injury, it could knock Chytil out for the entire 2024-25 season.

Scott Mayfield, the defenseman who laid the thunderous hit, was forced to answer the bell against Ryan Lindgren who stood up for Chytil.

Unfortunately for the New York Rangers, the Rangers announced that Ryan Lindgren would not be returning after this fight with an upper-body injury.

Hopefully, for the Rangers, Chytil can return as soon as possible and he can be there for them to start the season.

EDITOR UPDATE: Filip Chytil returned to the game after this hit from Mayfield. Ryan Lindgren will still miss the rest of tonight's game.
