We know right now that NHL forward Claude Giroux has his eyes clearly on the Stanley Cup playoffs and his hopes of winning his first cup.
However there's been plenty of talk of where Giroux could end up possibly next season. Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that Giroux has expressed interest this late in his career that he would like to play closer to home.
Giroux is from Hearst, Ontario and Friedman talked about Giroux possibly playing in the Nations Capital next season. However courtesy of Puck Empire we learn that the Montreal Canadiens are believed to have their eyes also set on adding Claude Giroux next season.
Habs GM Kent Hughes is looking to bring in a veteran to help develop his young stars Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield and adding a guy with the leadership and skill of Claude Giroux would definitely be beneficial.
Giroux played in 1,000 NHL games with the Philadelphia Flyers before joining the Florida Panthers at the NHL trade deadline.
