The defending Stanley Cup champions have been limping through the season so far. They are currently sitting in the 2nd wild care spot in the West, tied with the Calgary Flames with 27 points.
The Avalanche have been dealing with quite a few injuries, before last nights game they currently had 9 players on the roster with injures:
Landeskog
Lehkonen
Nichushkin
Rodrigues
Helm
Byram
Manson
MacDermid
Bowers
Foudy
Well, after last nights game, they now have 10.
During the game last night, the Avalanche's star center left the game with an upper body injury and did not return.
The Avalanche's head coach has now announced that he is going to miss some time.
Nathan MacKinnon will miss time, Jared Bednar says on Altitude. The team doesn't yet know how much.
MacKinnon was having a great season so far this year, scoring 8 goals and 34 points in 23 games, on pace for 121 points. Once again MacKinnon will not play in a full reason which could result in him missing that 100 point mark again.
