Seeing young players forced to miss time due to injury is tough, and no one has had a tougher start to his National Hockey League career than Nolan Patrick.

Patrick was the projected first overall pick back in 2017, but fell to second, when the New Jersey Devils elected to go with Nico Hischier instead.

Patrick has never played in a full season yet due to injuries, but produced 30+ point seasons in his first two years in the NHL.

After 4 years with the Flyers and missing the entire 2019-20 season with an injury, he was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights, in a three-way trade with the Predators that brought them Ryan Ellis. Luck definitely wasn't in the Flyers favour either though as Ellis missed all but 4 games last season and there is even rumours that his career could be over as well.

Nolan Patrick has had a problem with Migraines and has even missed significant time while playing in the WHL before being drafted.

He has the talent to be a top 6 player in the National Hockey League but never has a chance to really get going due to his injury.

Here is the last injury that took place for Patrick when he was blindsided by Nathan MacKinnon:

NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman announced that Patrick will most likely miss the entire season next year.
