The Ottawa Senators have arguably been the most exciting team this offseason, watching all the upgrades they've made and finally watching the team spend some money.
It all started on draft day when they traded their 5th overall pick to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for two-time 40 goal scorer Alex Debrincat. Then they signed former Flyers captain Claude Giroux to a 3 year deal. They also made an upgrade in goal with trading for Cam Talbot from the Minnesota Wild.
Add in the long-term contract extensions for Josh Norris, Tim Stutzle and Mathieu Joseph, it was a very exciting offseason for the Ottawa Senators.
Well, it looks like the team is not done yet as they just signed a former Senator to a PTO.
The funny thing about this signing, is it comes 6 years after the Senators traded for Brassard from the Rangers.
Traded from New York Rangers with round 7 pick in the 2018 draft (Luke Loheit) to Ottawa Senators for Mika Zibanejad and round 2 pick in the 2018 draft (Jonatan Berggren) It is still painful to see Zibanejad turn into a top tier center and the Ottawa Senators basically have nothing from the trade.
