Back in April of 2023, Valeri Nichushkin reportedly entered the NHL's Player Assistance Program, and now he may find himself needing help once more.
Valeri Nichushkin out indefinitely for Colorado
That came after what was described as an alcohol-related incident, and now, an NHL Insider has revealed that he may be heading back to the Player Assistance Program.
This is not official yet, but I'm hearing Valeri Nichushkin is back in the NHL player assistance program, out indefinitely
As of right now, there are no further details on any incident that may have happened, but if he needs help once more, it's great to see him taking that step or the Avalanche prioritizing his health over being on the ice for the team.
This season, Nichushkin has 22 goals and 42 points in 40 games played, so the Avalanche will be hoping he can get back on the ice in 2024 to help them chase a Stanley Cup.
