It seemed like not too long ago we were talking about the Toronto Maple Leafs being a stanley cup threat this season, but after a playoff defeat in game 7 to the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Maple Leafs are once again ''enjoying'' an early summer.
With another defeat in the first round this season, many have been asking what is going to come next, what moves are going to be made. Well, it looks like moves are starting to be made as the Maple Leafs resign their trade deadline acquisition to a multi-year extension.
Giordano fit in well with the Maple Leafs, he had 12 points in the his 20 regular season games, and 2 points in the 7 playoff games.
Well beyond his Norris trophy winning seasons, Giordano isn't the player he once was, but he still provides a veteran presence and is a great addition to the Maple Leafs blueline.
At the age of 38, the Leafs signed him for 2 years at an AAV of $800k, whether he is scoring 70+ point still or not, 800k is a steal for Giordano and all he can provide.
