Carey Price has carried the Montreal Canadiens on his back for years now since taking over as the starting goalie.
The last time we say Carey Price at his best was at the end of the 2021 season where he and the Canadiens made it all the way to the Stanley Cup finals but unfortunately lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
After that season, Price had surgery and required rehabilitation, and also entered the NHL substance abuse program.
Price finally made it into 5 games last season at the end of the year, but something was definitely still not right with him.
Many Montreal fans were hoping that an offseason of rest would have Price ready to go for the 2022-23 season, but some unfortunately news just broke from an NHL insider.
Chris Johnson just reported:
Montreal Canadiens GM Kent Hughes says he doesn't see a path for Carey Price to return and play during the 2022-23 season.
