What has been a few days of no exciting news, has really picked up in the last hour as we have now seen the Calgary Flames sign Stanley Cup Champion Nazem Kadri, and now we see the Flames trade away their former top line center to free up the cap space.
While we do not know the return yet and will update you when we can, the Flames have officially traded Sean Monahan to the Montreal Canadiens.
After being a player you could pencil in for 25+ goals for seven years, Sean Monahan has fallen out of favour in Calgary and his production definitely shows it. While many have believed that this is due to the injury that shut him down before the playoffs last season, it's no question that Monahan could use a fresh start.
Monahan is expected to be ready for next season and could definitely be an addition to the Montreal Canadiens if they are looking to contend next year.
