Well, it's been over a month that Nazem Kadri has been on the market, and we've been hearing for weeks that Kadri was going to be joining the New York Islanders, but it seems we've had a change in those rumours as Kadri is now a Calgary Flame!
According to Kevin Weekes, Kadri has joined the Calgary Flames:
**Breaking News** 🚨 📰
I'm told the @NHLFlames are working on a potential deal to move C Sean Monahan, and The @NHLFlames are signing UFA C Nazem Kadri. @espn @NHLNetwork @NHL #HockeyTwitter While we do not know many details on the contract yet, it is rumoured that it will be around 7 years at a $7,000,000 AAV per season.
Kadri is coming off the best season of his career where he scored 87 points in 71 games, and followed it up with 15 points in 16 playoff games and capped it off with a Stanley Cup. Kadri was going into free agency wanting to get a deal done around $9 million per season, but this is definitely a fairer value for him.
