After his slow start to last season, many people were quick to jump all over Cole Caufield calling him a bust, blah blah blah. Well, last season he finished strong under his new head coach, and he has started this season the exact same way.
Through his first 9 games this season, he has 7 goals and 10 points, on pace currently for 63 goals 91 points, not bad! If you recall, he was one of the most skilled players in his draft class, and by far the best goal scorer, but he dropped in the draft due to his size being 5'7".
Well, he has definitely proven those doubters wrong and is becoming one of the elite players in the National Hockey League.
While his size may still be a bit of an issue when it comes to receiving body contact though as during yesterdays game against the St. Louis Blues, Caufield took a hit from Torey Krug which sent him flying off his feet into the boards.
Caufield definitely thought the hit was funny though as he popped on Twitter to comment on the hit being posted by Spittin Chiclets.
