Matt Rempe received the largest suspension of his career earlier this season and has now spoken out for the first time since being punished.

Following a horrific elbowing play on Miro Heiskanen, Matt Rempe was suspended for eight games sidelining him for nearly 10% of the season.

Now, Rempe is set to return to action for the first time since the hit and he got quite candid when discussing how he needs to behave for the rest of the season.

"Can't happen again or it's going to be a huge suspension. ... I'm a marked man right now." - Matt Rempe

One of the largest issues with Rempe's discipline is that he is so much larger than most of the competition, standing at 6-foot-8, meaning that he could not elevate at all on a hit and still get total head contact.

While Rempe is eligible to return to action, he may not as the Rangers recently claimed Arthur Kaliyev off waivers which could bump him out of the lineup.

While Rempe is in hot water with the NHL Department of Player Safety and George Parros, things could be worse as it seems like he is still somehow in the good graces of the Rangers' coaching and management staff. At 22 years old, Rempe still has time to learn how to deliver clean hits on his opponents but it is quickly diminishing.

We will now wait and see if Rempe makes his return versus the New Jersey Devils tomorrow night or if Rempe will wind up sitting in the press box in favor of Kaliyev and other players.
