The Edmonton Oilers were eliminated Monday night by the Colorado Avalanche in a 4 game sweep, and since then many have wondered what is next for the organization.

At the moment the team only has 8 forwards under contract for next season and apparently resigning Evander Kane is a main priority, but the issue at the moment is, they don't have much money to spend. They currently have $7,130,205 in cap space and want to resign UFA Evander Kane, and RFA"s Puljujärvi, McLeod and Yamamoto.

So according to Jason Gregor, the Oilers are shopping Tyson Barrie, who is 2 more years at a team friendly $4,500,000 cap hit. Youngster Evan Bouchard really emerged this season as the team's top offensive defenceman and has made Barrie expendable.

Poor guy, first he loses his position in Colorado to Cale Makar, now loses it to Evan Bouchard, where will he be traded to next?

Barrie put up 7 goals and 41 points this season in 73 games, so the soon-to-be 31 year old still has some gas left in the tank to offer a team.
