The Florida Panthers made waves in the hockey world ahead of their current semifinal matchup against Toronto. How has it worked out for them?

Panthers' Plan to Ban Canadians Backfiring

The Florida Panthers enacted a policy regarding their ticket sales which banned the sale of tickets to buyers with Canadian billing addresses. While this policy lasted for all of a day, the effects of this attempt to shut Leafs fans out is being felt via their ticket sales.

The Panthers have not yet managed to sell out a playoff game for round two, and the available tickets are well under $200 dollars, compared to Toronto where every game is sold out, and ticket resale value is skyrocketing.

It looks like Florida Head Coach Paul Maurice is preparing for a wave of blue in Florida for these next two games. This doesn't come as a surprise to many, as plenty of Canadians spend the colder months in Florida.

We'll have to wait and see just how many Leafs fans show up, but expect it to be a lot.

As Seen on Daily Hive - Florida Panthers still haven't sold out any of their upcoming playoff games vs Leafs
