Nicklas Backstrom, one of the most underrated players in the league since he was drafted 4th overall back in 2006, recently on March 9th in a game against the Edmonton Oilers surpassed 1000 career points (currently at 1006).
Last night against the New Jersey Devils, the Washington Capitals held a ceremony to celebrate this career accomplishment, which Ovechkin almost stole the show by almost falling on the red carpet!
Backstrom has made a career of setting players up, with 742 assists, so the Washington Capitals decided to give away "apple stress balls" to the fans last night. But when Backstrom scored, the fans "made it rain!" with these apples, which was one amazing sight!
