Habs Management May Keep Reinbacher out the Whole Year due to Fans Backlash
Some Habs fans are known to take things too far. We saw it during the 2021 Finals when Lightning players received a lot of hate messages. Now, they did it again. This time, the target was David Reinbacher, the Habs' latest first round pick.
It has been reported that Reinbacher received thousands of unjustified hate messages after the Habs chose him at the fifth overal rank.
Habs Player Support Reinbacher
The only good thing that came out of this whole thing, is that Habs players reached out to support the young man.
As reported on NHL Breakers on Instagram:
"Multiple Canadiens players have taken notice and have supported Reinbacher.
In some instances, Reinbacher has been incomprehensibly compared to Adolf Hitler in messages since he is Austrian-born.
It's gotten so bad that management is unlikely to bring him to North America this season to avoid further backlash.
Backlash comes from most Canadiens fans disapproval of passing on Matvei Michkov, but David Reinbacher has received the brunt of the anger" This makes the Montreal Canadiens look extremely bad. It needs to stop. The 18 year-old just realized his dream and some people are so angry that they need to make him feel bad, even if nothing's his fault.
Can't believe people call themselves devoted fans and pull something like this...
